Winter Parking Update

During the recent winter storms, there have been concerns raised by a number of our residents as relates to parking in our community. Residents are reminded of the following:

  • All cars are to be parked in designated parking spots within the cul-de-sac areas, or in legal parking spots along the main road.
  • Cars may not block driveways, mailboxes, fire hydrants, or any areas which will prevent the clearing of snow and/or ice from the road.
  • The use of chairs or other obstacles for the purpose of reserving parking spaces is prohibited.
  • When clearing snow from your driveway or parking spot, use common sense in placing the snow in an appropriate area. Moving the snow to an area where it will cause others to be plowed in is simply not neighborly.
  • Remember to use common sense, courtesy, and decency when clearing snow from your parking spaces, in front of your homes, etc.

During a recent review of parking conditions in the community, it was found that there are typically ample parking spaces to account for the needs of the community. Despite that there have been 6 - 8 open parking spaces, residents have continued to park in undesignated parking areas. As a consequence, certain portions of our neighborhood could not be adequately plowed. This situation has made it difficult for those residents who have been parking in designated spaces to move their cars from their spots, and has made driving conditions more hazardous.
